About

“Don’t invest in an espresso machine at home unless you want a new hobby.”

– James Hoffman, The World Atlas of Coffee

I discovered my passion for coffee during Covid. In the heart of the pandemic, all cafés were closed (even for take-out), which left me without my usual mid-day break and caffeine fix. It was unbearable. So I figured “why not do it myself?” and used some of my stimulus money on a Ranchilio Rocky grinder and Miss Silvia espresso machine. Thus started one of the most gratifying and intensive preoccupations in my life.

As I learned the craft over the years, I eventually upgraded to a Rocket espresso machine, Mazzer grinder, and began roasting my own beans on Hottop.

I started this business because I feel like my passion for coffee deserves to be shared. Everyone I’ve served to is surprised and enamored of the smooth, bright flavor of my drinks. I’ve had many ‘converts’ who previously never drank any coffee ask me for my brews on the regular.

My speciality is originally film photography, which I’ve spent many years studying and practising. (My prints are also available on this site). I apply all of my meticulous precision and obsession for detail and perfection that I’ve developed in photography into my coffee beans and drinks.

I now own a small commercial roaster, and I’m ready to share to South Florida and the world the same delicious beans enjoyed by myself, my family, and my “convert” colleagues.

So if you’re accustomed to the flavor of “bitter water” typically associated with coffee, give my beans a try. Brewed (or pulled) correctly, I promise you’ll taste flavors you never knew existed in coffee.
